What could be yummier and more comforting than a delicious piece of cake as a snack or to top off a scrumptious meal? Believe it or not, there is an added element that can elevate a dessert that is already unquestionably terrific into something truly special. Once you learn what they are and how to make space cakes, you’ll never go back.
What Are Space Cakes?
Space cakes don’t have anything to do with the stratosphere. In fact, these so-called edibles are made by adding cannabis-laced butter into an otherwise ordinary cake or pastry recipe. Depending on the THC content of the marijuana or hash used in the recipe, the effects can vary greatly. Because it can take over an hour for you to experience the effects, you should be careful not to eat too much too quickly.
Delicious recipes abound, and you can even modify an old family favorite. Here is just one idea of how to make space cakes. Since it’s made with zucchini as well, you can even get a serving of veggies in along with your weed.
The Ingredients You’ll Need
-½ cup cannabutter softened
-1 ¾ cup granulated white sugar
-½ cup vegetable oil
-½ cup milk
-2 large eggs
-1 tsp vanilla
-2 ½ cup all-purpose flour
-¼ cup cocoa powder
-1 tsp baking soda
-½ tsp ground cinnamon
-½ tsp ground cloves
-2 cups shredded zucchini
-1 cup chocolate chips
Prepare Your Zucchini
First, let’s talk about the zucchini, which will make your cake amazingly moist. Cut a zucchini of any size into small pieces, leaving the peel on and removing the seeds and soft inner core. Then grate the zucchini with a grater or food processor.
The Cake Batter
After preheating your oven to 350°F, cream together cannabutter and sugar in a large bowl. Add milk, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed without overdoing it. In a separate bowl, combine cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves. Then pour the dry ingredients into the wet ones, mixing until incorporated. Finally, add the zucchini and distribute it throughout the batter. Evenly spread the batter into a greased 9” x13“ pan.
Baking It
Once the batter is spread, top your creation with chocolate chips. Place on the middle rack of your oven. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let your cake cool on a cooling rack. Then cut it into 12 pieces, and enjoy!
Storing It
Your cake can be safely stored in your refrigerator for up to a week as long as you cover it. Alternately, you can place it in a large freezer bag and freeze it for up to six months. Just remember to label your cake well, and keep it away from children and pets.
Dessert is always a crowd-pleaser. However, once you know how to make space cakes like this gooey, fudgy zucchini cake, you will have every adult in the room smiling for many hours to come.
